A Plastic Wrap Alternative that’s the Bee’s Knees

On the never-ending quest to rid one’s daily routine of disposable plastics, let me introduce you to

Bee’s Wrap. Bee’s Wrap bill themselves as a natural alternative to plastic food storage.

Bee’s Wrap founder, Sarah Kaeck, started her company in 2012 in Bristol Vermont, as an answer to the relentless question: “How do we eliminate plastics in our kitchen in favor of a healthier, more sustainable way to store food?” Bee’s Wrap is a

Green America certified company, committed to encouraging social change and dedicated to improving the lives of their employees, community & planet.

Bee’s Wrap is a reusable, flexible, durable food storage wrap made from organic (

GOTS certified) cotton coated in beeswax, organic jojoba oil and tree resin. The beeswax is sourced from sustainably-managed hives farmed in the US. Beeswax and jojoba have inherent antibacterial properties that help to keep food fresh and allow the wraps to be used again and again.

The warmth of your hand creates a seal around a bowl, casserole dish, chunk of cheese, onion or sandwich. The wraps come in multiple sizes and shapes. They even make one specifically for baguettes!

To care for your wraps, simply rinse in cold water with a biodegradable soap, and air dry. Each wrap is projected to last about a year if used a couple times per week. Bee’s Wraps are completely biodegradable and compostable. In fact, the Bee’s Wrap team suggest that you cut the wrap into strips to add to your compost pile, or wrap the strips around kindling and use as a natural, effective fire starter.

Bee’s Wraps are not recommended for raw meats and should be kept away from heat sources like hot water, ovens, dishwashers and microwaves.

They make a great hostess gift or stocking stuffer. You can order directly from green design GOODS!
